i felt strong arms come around me and hold onto me tightly. i could feel my weight. up in heaven we didnt weigh much and could float around freely. here my head felt like a ton of bricks. i groaned and tried to move my head so it was resting on the one holding me and i wouldnt have to hold it up.
"shhh, you lost a lot of blood. you need to rest." the voice said to me softly.
blood. vampires. i opened my eyes and tried to look around me. once again i couldn't see anything. i tried pushing the one holding me away, "vampires. i dont want to die."
i heard a deep chuckle come from the other side of me, a voice different from the one holding me. The one holding me tried to hold me still, "you're okay. nothing will happen to you."
"vampires." i said again. i had seen what they could do to my kind.
"she's afraid of vampires. fancy that." the other person said abnd gave another chuckle.
I felt the one holding me take in a deep breath, "just get tallulah up here, nathan."
the one holding me placed me down on what i assumed was a bed as i felt my body become engulfed in something soft. i tried to look around but could not see where i was. terror flowed through me like a raging river."shhh, calm down. we will not hurt you. my name is cyrus and my roommate is nathan. we also have a friend named tallulah who lives with us. youre safe here."
"i cannot see." i said frantically even though i tried to calm my nerves before i spoke.
i sat up on the bed and reached around. i didnt know what i was searching for, anything comforting i assume. a hand grabbed mine and held it. my hand felt small compared to this one. i wrapped both hands around this large hand.
"what happened to you? why were you cast from heaven?"
i shook my head. i didnt know what i had done. i could feel tears falling out of my eyes. the guy, cyrus, moved onto the bed. i felt the bed dip under his weight. he wiped at my eyes with his other large hand. a loud bang made me jump and a small squeak escaped my mouth.
"it's alright. it was only nathan and tallulah." cyrus said to me softly.
"oh! it's an angel!" a female voice said excitedly before i felt a small frame come onto the bed. i turned my head away, into the direction where i hoped cyrus was as i held onto his hands tightly.a warm hand was on the side of my face in an instant, pulling my head back into the direction it was facing. "i'm tilly! i'm half fairy, which is why i'm small like you!"
"she doesn't have vision, tallulah. she seems to have lost it when she came onto earth." cyrus said.
it was silent then. i didn't know what was going on. were tallulah and i significantly small? or were we just short? "i can try to make some potions and see if that would bring her vision back."
"please. nathan, will you stay with her while i make her something to eat?" cyrus said as i felt the weight of tallulah vanish off of the bed.
a grunt came from the far end of the room, from nathan i assume, before cyrus let go of my hand and got off of the bed. i heard the two men whispering for a minute before it turned silent. i knew i was alone but at the same time i felt like i was being watched. maybe it was my sisters. they knew i didnt do anything wrong. i only did what i was asked to do, which was protect who i was assigned to protect. yes, i did make myself shown, only to save his life. maybe that's why god cast me out. i couldnt help myself from crying now. i was scared and alone. i had the right to cry.
